This film does something really special. A lot of people really hate the scenes with the sheriff and his deputy searching for the suspects.
The two act extremely ineptly in a very bumbling comedic way, but without any actual humor. It's almost as if it's poking at the cruelty of the situation.
Personally, I see it as Craven saying, there's a vast difference between the world of the living and the world of the dying. People who are innocent and carefree
are unable to fathom the depths of despair humans are capable of experiencing.
That emotional disparity in this film is what elevates it from typical films that seek to instill horror.
Anyways, it might be sick to say, but I found myself jealous of her.
To have such a beautiful peaceful life cut short at the peak of youth, even if it was in such a way.
It reminds me of Medicine's A Short Happy Life
